The PRB members at STPR were there, as were National Staff folks. Nobody showed up...although Adrian said he got there 20 minutes late.

Perhaps there wasn't a good enough notice. The PRB was not having a meeting at STPR as they have done in the past, so maybe everyone thought there wouldn't be a town meeting.

Where exactly was this announced?

It was not on the SCCA web site
It was not on Special Stage
It was not on the STPR web-site that I noticed
It was not in my registration materials
It was not in the schedule that I noticed
There was no worker announcements board that I was aware of
I did not look at the competitor board due to lack of time
It was not mentioned by any rally official that I am aware
It was not mentioned in the 7:30 a.m. mandatory drivers meeting
If it was on Rally-L my "membership" has discontinued itself

That's at least 10 opportunities to COMMUNICATE the meeting. I could have missed it but I am usually pretty good at reviewing the schedules.

Do we think we do a good job with Communication?

Regards,
Mike

EDIT: I can only blame myself for missing it on the schedules.

Furthermore I asked Debbie Segal (asst. chairperson) at breakfast at 10:00 if she knew if there was going to be one. She indicated that Kurt had been asked about 3 times and said 'no' and I could always go talk to him in person if I wanted!

Interesting. If there was not to be a town meeting, nobody communicated that to the PRB members. Or the National Field Staff. We delayed our departure from Wellsboro for it deliberately.

Kurt asked me at that breakfast if I was sticking around for the Town Hall - so he certainly planned on their being one. Maybe folks should ask Kurt next time instead of believing what someone else said Kurt said.

Agreed. Kurt told us that he had changed his flight out specifically to accomodate the town hall meeting. He was still in the press room (next door to the lounge where the meeting was supposed to happen) when we showed up looking for the meeting.

I think I recall Kurt mentioning it when I got at like 3am to the party. Not that there was a chance in hell I was going to be awake in 4 hours after some beer&pizza and a nice long ride back to the place we stayed...

I'll say it again. The STPR schedule still sucks. It has always
stunk for me. And the lame-ass excuses they use year after
year no longer cut it.

If they were smart they could sell the chamber of commerce 2
daytime events and then pack the restaurants 2 nights instead
of one.

Sure felt like that kind of schedule this year.

And thats no excuse for one that actually works
and doesn't leave folks out on the road after
17+ hours.

Not all events have this issue. Sure we have
to work with the Chamber of commerce. but geez.

The current schedule is a breeze - I used to be a stage captain for the last stage of STPR (ended at the Log Cabin) some years back and I would see daylight as I drove back to the hotel for the banquet. :9
