wow. maybe they are facing a big lawsuit or something. and yes this is proof that i am a sucker. just good to see them squirm a bit after they stole my money.

they sent me the following email:

Please take the time to read this ENTIRE LETTER as it serves as a
formal apology from Morre Entertainment LLC and the method we are
compensating ALL that have participated in the online casting call process for
www.rallyracer.com.

First and foremost, we would like to apologize to you for this entire
process. There is no excuse for what has taken place throughout this
process with production delay after production delay and rewrites of our
online casting software.

We would like to compensate you and all others that have signed up for
Rally Racer.

For all of the people who applied for Rally Racer., we would like to
extend this offer and pledge in compensation for your patience and
fortitude in sticking with and trying a new and different method of casting
call recruitment for a reality television program.

Your Current Rally Racer login information is:

Your user name is: xxxxxxxxxx
Your password is: xxxxxxxxxx

Rally Racer was our company's first project as a new company entering
into the industry of television program development and production. It
has been just over three years since we started on this project and with
more than $1.5 million invested, we have learned what not to do and
what to do. This project continues to lose money for our company, but has
given us an invaluable lesson in operating in this industry.

In our initial research, we found that the success of a non-scripted
(reality) television program was mostly the result of the cast members
and the recruiting. Review and selection of those people is a daunting
task. Previous casting directors and producers have relied on the age
old method of putting an ad in a local paper, trade paper or other
methods to announce a casting call in limited cities or send a VHS tape to an
address. They would then have to view thousands of tapes to even find
who they would like to review further.

There have been less than 40,000 of you that have participated in this
process. Far less than most of you had thought signed up, but far more,
by 10 times, the amount of the average non-scripted (reality) TV
programs. Through this process and largely due to the extended delays
encountered, we felt there has to be a way to give something back to all of
you that entered into this voyage and took a leap of faith and hope in
trying something new.

Here is what we would like to give ALL of you. It is our way of saying
thank you and a way for us to help some of you to possibly participate
in non-scripted (reality) television programs.

Morre Entertainment LLC has partnered with several other television
production and entertainment marketing companies on additional
non-scripted (reality and comedic skit) television programs. We would like to
welcome you to login and apply to each one of these programs FREE FROM
CHARGE. We will email you a brief description of each TV program and a link
that will allow you to login and answer any additional question
specific to that TV program again FREE FROM CHARGE.

We will also enter YOUR Rally Racer personal profile as your online
personal profile in the realCASTING.COM's master database where your order
id number becomes your membership number and your username and password
will remain the same. www.realcasting.com is being launched later this
summer as a partnership with several companies as a FREE FROM CHARGE to
ALL certified CASTING DIRECTORS, PRODUCERS, DIRECTORS, TALENT SCOUTS,
PHOTOGRAPHERS and AGENTS within the entertainment industry wishing to
search, recruit, review and select "real people" for their entertainment
programs and projects. ALL OF YOU who signed up on www.rallyracer.com
will receive FREE FROM CHARGE your realCASTING.COM personal profile
submission where you are CURRENTLY able to upload a photograph to your
online personal profile and send in a Mini DV (ONLY) Format tape of three
(3:00) minutes long. That tape by the end of this year will be uploaded
and be viewable by entertainment casting professionals. In the
interim,we will duplicate to VHS tapes and forward them to those certified
entertainment professionals that implement an inquiry search for their
program's participants.

We hope that through this effort Morre Entertainment LLC will be able
to at least assist some of you in your pursuit in becoming a participant
within a non-scripted (reality) television program (i.e. adventure,
relationship, competition, cohabitating, game show, courtroom, talk show,
documentary, still photography, commercial projects, etc.).

Thank you again for your participation and continued patience.

Sincerely,
Eric S. Canonico
Managing Member,
Morre Entertainment LLC

This is just like the bank scam:

Phase 1
The scam artist phones up the sucker and claims to be a bank inspector. He tells the sucker that there's been a breach of security at the bank and needs the sucker's help. He needs them to withdraw x amount of money and meet him at a non-bank location, where the money will be put back into their account in a secured branch of the bank.

Phase 2
Scam artist's partner phones up the sucker, and apologizes on behalf of the bank for the scam artist that's taken their money. This scam artist tells the sucker that he REALLY IS a bank fraud manager, and can possibly get the sucker's money back for them, with their help. The scam artist says that he's pretty sure the previous scam artist is actually a bank employee, but needs to catch them in the act. So, if the sucker could help them out by withdrawing some money from their account, the bank fraud manager will use it to trap the first scam artist........

Don't laugh! Lots of senior citizens have been taken in not just once, or twice, some have been taken 3 or 4 times!! These guys are really slick and polished............

I got that too, and while I'm not a cynical as some others here, I still am not interested in replying or doing anything else with him or his company.

These guys obviously either are scammers (as some suggest) or they are completely clueless when it comes to racing or producing a show about racing.

In either case, typing this reply is the last bit of effort that I will expend on them or their stupid "reality show"

If anyone really wanted to do a rally reality show, all they'd need to do would be to send out a few camera crews and hook up with a few teams on the club or pro circuit and document their exploits.

There is more than enough color, action, drama, and human interest here already without a production company casting and fabricating a false "reality" situation.

now *that's* not a bad idea.

Someone should pitch that to Discovery/TLC and/or Speed. It would have to be at least as interesting as "American Chopper", wouldn't it?

Total scam. And non-apology. That's just more scam!

And this is a classic, actually. They're trying to extract yet more profit from the suckers they've already hooked & squeezed. Presumably nobody's signing up for their bullshit RallyRacer series anymore (40,000 entry fees later? Who knows...) so now they're cashing out the e-mail list one last time, just to see if there's any suck left in us suckers. You know they're selling whatever information you give them, for a buck here, a buck there. These people are professional cocksuckers, and they should be sued. They're full of it, as far as I can tell every last word out of their mouths for 2+ years has been complete and utter -- and actionable -- bullshit. They're crooks.

Hear that... Google? And posterity? And any future other suckees? These Morre Arseburglars have got a good thing going here. They get you to pay them to bend you over... you and n-thousand other gullible morons like me, you (there) and you (too).

(How's that Blues Brothers song go? "You, you, and you." )

What a bunch of zeroes we are! I can't even believe we're still talking about these cranklappers. We might as well be complaining about Miss Cleo, or that guy who talked really, really fast in those bad car ads in the 80s. This is soo 2001. ;)

In some ways, the existence of these guys is a validation of the popularity of rally in the US. Ten years ago, this scam wouldn't have made twenty bucks...today THOUSANDS of rally wannabes signed up...far more than the few admitted guppies on this forum.

RE: an APOLOGY from whocares.com????

I know it is off topic, but I love "American Chopper" as well as "Monster Garage". Good entertainment in my book.

Good Morning America

Got this email today, reply to Allen if interested in talking about this "scam".

--------------

Hi Jim:

I?m a producer at Good Morning America and I?m interested in the Rally Racer TV show. A Google search brought me to your Specialstage.com Web site, specifically to Topic #1585.

I?m reading messages from a number of your site users who are saying they feel as if they were ripped off by the company behind the site.
I?d like to be able to talk to them to find out more about their experiences with the enterprise.

Would it be possible to provide me with their email contacts?or if you?re not comfortable doing that would you be able to notify them of my interest and ask them to contact me?

It seems that they would be interested in doing so. If you have any questions, please email or call. Thanks very much.

RE: Good Morning America

I would be very wary of contacting any such
television show. They often use people's
troubles for the advantage of the television
show with no regard to those they say they
are trying to help.

I have second hand knowledge of some really
twisted crap done by 60 minutes, and I have
first hand knowledge of some other lying crap
done by 60 minutes.

Think before you leap into a situation that
can be very easily edited to give rally a
national black eye!

My recommendation is to not contact the television
producers. Ignore their request.

Not all publicity is good publicity.

RE: Good Morning America

Regarding SteveH's post:

I agree with much of what he says.
TV shows sometimes do show little regard for people.
You should think before you leap into ANY situation.
There are unethical people in the TV business (as there are in any other business), although of course I have no knowledge about any of the alleged issues specifically involving 60 Minutes.

But, I must question why you would be urged to ignore my request to talk to you. Besides lumping all TV people in one rotten barrel, the suggestion implies that people aren't capable of getting in touch and assessing the veracity of my work and my intentions for themselves.

I doubt that SteveH knows me. But his denunciation of TV news as a whole subsumes my work. So please understand why I do take his comments personally on some level.

The fact is. television consumer units often provide the ONLY recourse for people who feel dissatisfied or even ripped off by a business or other commercial venture.

So I would like to ask anyone who responded to Rally Racer's promotion to please email or call me. I'm interested in hearing from people with all types of experiences: good, bad or indifferent.
And feel free to check me out and ask whatever questions you like.

I hope to hear from you.

Thanks,

--Allen

RE: Good Morning America

Thanks for looking into this Allen. I have been contacted several times by Good Morning America regarding this rallyracer business. It does seem to me from my experiences in talking to them that they are very interested in rallyracer and what is going on there. I see no reason why rallying itself should come out looking poor. This is about a reality game show (scam?), not about the sport of rally.

If you have anything to say about rallyracer, give Allen a call and have a chat with him.

Also, this has been a hot topic here. These are links to more discussion about the same show:
