I saw someone do this in another rally forum, and I thought it would be great to do something similar for North America, as the other one is more European focused.

I figured it would be great for all of us to find rally people, shops, etc close by. Maybe we could meet some new rally friends, or give rise to some new rally clubs? :)

Check it out: http://www.frappr.com/narally

Edit: And add yourself to it too! It only takes 5 seconds...

Hmmm... I also wondered, why not add rally events and rally-related businesses to it too? Yes! A complete map of anything to do with rallying in North America! }(

Yes, Charlie, same thing with frappr. It's just a quick, easy to use database front-end to Google maps. You can see "powered by google" on the corner of the map.

You're welcome Mark! I'm just having fun watching the different areas filling out, and seeing some "hot pockets" of rallying becoming apparent. Looks like Minneapolis is a little vortex of rally people. :)

Anyway, Google maps is incredible. I just recently realized that you can directly click and drag the map and move it around to where you want it (instead of using the little arrow keys).

Fine, fine, I added myself.
What I meant in my above post, was that they actually integrated Google Maps into the site, instead of relying on something like frappr.

No problem Kevin. I hope you got the zip issue figured out. I see that there is someone else there that was able to get listed in Boulder, CO. You should be able to edit your location.

If anyone needs me to remove one of their photos or shoutouts or whatever, just click on the "contact admin" link, and it will email your message to me.

Charlie, I know what you mean now. Maybe George or Jim, or someone else could do something like that to integrate with the Specialstage forum directly. I don't know how much work it would take though.

It takes some boulder zip codes and not others, go figure.

UP to 229 memebers; very interesting pattern. Why is this map so sparse in the lower midwest?? (Chicago, Indiana, Ohio) That area used to be teeming with ralliers....

I didnt realize matt lived in bloomington.

Did he go to high school or anything there?

I'm surprised I haven't seen him around town.

Thanks Jake! Like I said though, I didn't do much.

Mark, this is not very complete yet. There are currently 3298 registered users on Specialstage, and probably countless others that are not registered here and may not even be much into the internet. There's only 246 people on the frappr map so far, so I'm sure there's a ton of people still missing from the map.

I registered and posted a pic - but I can't get the map to come up. Do I need to do something special?

Nope - that didn't work either. Any other ideas?
