Juha Kankkunen has bought Hannu Mikkola's original S1 and drove 0-car at the Finnish rallysprint in August. He apologized for not using more than "half boost" due to hard to find engine parts... Still, people went to se HIM and S1, and regular WRC car drivers were not too happy - S1 stole the show!

Specs (now they have even more HP with less boost, like Finn Kuismanen's IMSA racer with S1 engine - 1000+ in qualifying):
Motor: 5-Zylinder Reihenmotor, Aluminium Block, 2190cm^3 (aufgebohrt von 2133cm^3), Aluminum-20V-Kopf, zwei gegenläufig rotierende Nockenwellen, Mahle Kolben mit 81mm Durchmesser, Verdichtung 7,2:1, Trockensumpf, Ölvolumen 13l, Bosch Motronic 1.7 Motormanagement System, 5 Spulen, 2 elektronisch kontrollierte Einspritzdüsen pro Zylinder, wassergekühlter KKK K27 Turbolader mit einstellbarem Wastegate von 2,35 bis 3,60 bar Ladedruck, Ladeluftkühler. Der Zylinderkopf, Block und Ölwanne sind mit Titan Schrauben verbunden, um dem hohen Ladedruck zu widerstehen. Maximale Leistung (offiziell) 530kW (720 bhp) @ 8030 1/min, maximales Drehmoment 634Nm @ 8030 1/min (nach Gerüchten eher 800 bis 950bhp),

A few of us were lucky enough to see one of those run Olympus back in the day. I will never forget the sound of that car comeing through Capital Forrest :)

Capitol Forest heck..that thing left Shelton service with a tad bit of daylight under the front tires....manly cars!! Gene
