I was trying to read some of the press releases from the Donegal Rally and finally found out why I can't understand those Irish guys. All this time I thought they were speaking English and I was not getting it - here's an example...
-------
"Thug feidhmeannaigh ó Rally Idirnáisiúnta Dhún na nGall 2002 le fios go bhfuil thart ar 270 ag glacadh páirt in imeacht na bliana seo a chruthaíonn fadhb do chléireach an chúrsa Tomás Ó hUiginn Shell inchurtha le gach Rally tarrmhac leis an méad iontrálacha a fuarthas. Chaithfear teorannú do 150 a chuir le imeacht atá ar siúil i Litir Ceanainn. Rud a chruthaíonn deacair den lucht eagraithe a chaitheann socrú cé uilig ata le toiseach ar 21 Meitheamh."
-------
That's exactly how it sounds to me!
Thanks to Tom Lawless and Celsus Donnelly for making an effort to communicate with me by speaking slower. It helps.
