So I bought a MR2 with the intention of building a rally car with it. Has anyone else built one, what issues did you have with your build.

Well did the previous 4-10 times other people ran into the various dead ends that Mr2 are full of put you off the idea?

if not then more replies are necessary.

There are so many other vehicles that for the same or less effort and money will be both tons more fun and cheaper to do and potentially much better results that its not even funny..
Rememeber, there is nmothing to be discovered in how to do a car or a rally, the major problem is sourcing real rally-worthy parts...
And the first easy thing to do is avoid choosing a completely unsuitable car...

Or, if you already made a initial blunder, to not be pointlessly obstinate and pouty and say you're going to build it because:
a) I already have it
b) I wanna do something "original"!!
c) I want to do something "unique".
d) I really don't want to be competitive

I think the MR2s claim to fame is it will be the one car that makes a DelSol seem like a good idea....

might be good to chase parts (small parts..) with for the real car you're going to build. Now is a good time to rethink things and depending on your skills look to the Volvo, BMW, Honda, VW even a Neon if need be.

After posting no replies necessary, I knew that you would comment after reading the previous posts from other threads, Don't worry, after reading other posts and some more research. I am going to go to a DirtFish rally course (3day). Drive a few different set-ups at the school and make some choices on which avenue to take. Most likely go with a pre-built car just to get out there and race. I think this will be the best course of action, get some training, get some credits toward the racing license, and have a great time doing it.

Hope this satisfies your worries about the build ... whatever it becomes.
