Try Ed Brennan's Rally Racing News Site. http://www.rallyracingnews.com/rnindex.html>
There are results and often Press Releases for under the SCCA Pro Rally Section for almost all rallies back to 1973.

- What can I tell?
- Those were the finest rallying days in the West!
- People came from California, Mid west, East and Canada.
- Our head-quarters for 2.5 weeks were Motel 6, Tumwater.
- We rallied, eat, drink and had lot of fun....
- There were people like; John Woolf, Grant Whittaker, Rod Millen, Clive Smith, Taisto Heinonen, me, Watanabe Bros, and so on
- Everybody had a great time....we went to a horse training place in Tumwater, local "lumber jack bars", ocean side resorts, Port Angeles, Olympia and Shelton for fun.
- During the week between rallies Rod Millen did tire testing for Bridgestone and I got to be a timer / navigator sometimes. He also tested and developed Datsun 510 with a Ford BDG engine for fellow rallyist Jon Woodner
- Can this work today? Only one way to find out....

Surprise of all surprises, there is the original Comic Ozzie Datsun 510 (Rising Sun on the door, and #28 on the flank from running 100 Acre Wood that year) in the parking lot at Norwester 1981. I wasn't competing, but rather in the process of moving from Minneapolis to Alameda, CA.

Someone being passed at one of the numerous hairpin switchback intersections on that event. Tough to say who is passing (or passed whom), however.

Tom Burgess doing early practice to be an FIA observer?

So, Steve, how about the REST of the story.

We broke early, so I was already in the bar (which we kept open until 6am).

press on,
