Bruce Jaeger recently sent me a pile of photo files from the 1976 MOWOG Winter Rally. Jim Putnam and I ran it in his Toyota Corolla 1600. We finished 5th. Finishing was an achievement, even more so than on today's Winter Rallys.

Jaeger also wrote an article on the 1976 MOWOG for Midwest Motorsport Magazine: http://bjtechserv.com/Magazine/Magazine.htm.
The '76 MOWOG included three "stages", where the roads were only one lane, snow covered, and the CAST was 50 mph. Helmets were not required on this event, but I think we used them on the stages anyway.
This event was also the first for COMIC OZZIE RALLYE TEAM. Since Putnam and I both were driving Japanese cars at the time, we were looking for a Japanese sounding name for our team. While writing out some Japanese words, I misspelled "kamikaze" with a "c"... and the rest is legend.
