Clark Bond, long time co-driver died this week.
I competed against and with Clark for many years. He primarily sat with Bruno Kreibich in the Audi Quattro and Porsche 911 and with Brian Rebney in a Datsun 510.
He certainly was one of the good guys and joins a growing bunch upstairs.
Prayers and love to Barb and the rest of the family.

M. Clark Bond
11/2/42 – 5/3/17
Clark Bond passed away May 3, 2017 in the loving care of the Toni and Trish House in Auburn at the age of 74. Boys dream of being firemen and race car drivers when they grow up. He was a charter member and former Chief of Frankenlust’s Volunteer Fire Department. Cars were his true passion, competing as co-driver of the Sports Car Club of America Pro Rally Car series both locally and on an international level. He navigated for most of the top drivers in the country and was honored to win the Best Rally Navigator in North America trophy. He was Chief of the Fire in the pits at the Detroit Grand Prix. He also competed in two One Lap of America races (The Cannon Ball Run) and completed the Baja 1000 race in Mexico. Clark had his dream job of Test Engineer in the Product Testing lab at Saginaw Steering Gear, retiring in 1998 after 36 years of service.
Clark was also a former member of and a proud NRA member. He loved to volunteer at Duncan’s Outdoor Shop where he leaves many treasured friends. Clark was a member of Saginaw Valley and Detroit Region Sports Car Club of America and a former member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Frankenlust.
Clark married Barb (Gage) met 56 years ago at Ferris when it was still Ferris Institute. They were married on August 17, 1963, sharing almost 54 years together. She survives him, along with their two sons, Jim (Peggy) of Bristol, TN and their children Mike, Andy, Courtney, Katie and Sarah; and Bill (Wendy) of Linwood and their two daughters, Jessica (Gage) Hall of Mt. Pleasant and Emily (John) Beckert of Auburn. He is also survived by a brother Doug (Rose) Bond of Woodstock, GA and sister Nancy (Jim) Zeno of Cave Creek, AZ.
The family will greet friends at Rivertown Funeral Home in Kawkawlin from noon until 4:00p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017. In lieu of flowers, donations to Toni and Trish House in Auburn will be welcomed.
GodSpeed young fella.
