Default 2016 R-A rule change on engine block manufacturer

Fairly new here and in the process of building my first car to run G2. Have also tried to search this topic and haven't found anything new enough to relate to the 2016 rulebook.

I frequently check the rules to make sure the build stays within the guidelines. That being said I haven't gotten to the engine on the vehicle yet and I just noticed that on page 80 of the 2016 rulebook they have crossed out the line that states your cars engine block needs to be derived from the same manufacturer as the vehicle. I am wondering if engine swaps from different manufacturers are now a viable option in my build as long as I stay within the adjusted displacement. I have emailed rally America a few weeks ago and have yet to receive a response from them. So if anyone has any info on this thanks in advance.
