    Cool Hello from North Carolina

Hi my name is Mike Ryan, I'm pretty much a newb to rally racing. I have vol. for a few rallies in the past couple of years, and now its time to get off the pot, get a car and start racing. I have started working on a car, its going on over a year and still working on it and no where near ready. So I'm looking to buy one (wife is so happy about it). Looking forward to the 2016 season, driving fast, good people, having fun, and beer!!As long as it doesn't pass me by.
    Thanks
    Mike Leadfoot Ryan

    Welcome ,
I'd guess the ZX2 is not the worlds worst rally car but certainly not the best choice. I'm guessing that year still has the single cam 2.0 version of the old 1.9 Escort..head gasket blowing, cam breaking, valve seat dropping, low power wonder. I like the looks of the ZX2, but would suggest updating to the twin cam Focus powertrain or moving to a better platform for a first build (or buy). I'll sound like another old fart but Volvo or BMW would be an easier and better first choice. Or go Open Light and toss together an Impreza or Legacy non-turbo car.

Who cares what engine, they are easy to make noob type mods..
So what can be done to get a fun final drive set so its not a MPG shopping trolley gearbox?
    Links!
    PRICES!!

Cause sooner or later anybody who is going stay in the sport is going to want to make the car accelerate...

Come on I know you have some pxy front wheel drive Frod....so you have to know what the parts for B5 and MTX75 cost.
