Default Tall Pines - a win for the old guys

Sylvain and Simon Vincent were very popular winners of the 45th annual Rally of the Tall Pines. Sylvain has been competing at the CRC level since 1985. He has reached the category of Grand Master based on his level of lifetime championship points, but he had never won. Never stood on the top step of the podium. Until last night. He announced in his finish line interview that that was his final rally. He was ending his career as a driver on the highest note possible. That was a win for all the privateers who keep trying against long odds and better-financed teams. His co-driver was just three years old when Sylvain's 1994 Subaru was built. Actually, that's a good story too. Simon Vincent, son of Sylvain and Dominique was born at a rally - the 1991 Baie des Chaleurs. Mom was at the finish line last night too. Sylvain now plans to help Simon with his driving career. Félicitations à la premiere famille de rallye canadienne.

It's fantastic to see, and of all the events to win on, Tall Pines is definitely (imo) one of the ones to do it at. The TV footage should be spectacular! Congrats Sylvain and Simon!

Blew up the clutch at PFR, back at it for Big White!

Chris and I had a blast chasing them for the majority of the day. Both father and son are total class acts. Very, very happy for them. :-)
