Default Which 14" tire should Maxxis Bring in for the Victra R19 gravel tire

    Hi Everyone,

I am looking for feedback to see which 14" Gravel tire size Maxxis should bring in. We currently have the option of 175/65R14 or 185/65R14 which one is more popular for racers?

    Thanks
    Ritche

Can you give us some "real world" (ideally, not just 'well it says it's 185mm wide there in the size...) numbers - tread width and overall diameter when mounted on a certain (14x6?) size wheel?

Based on the nominal sizing, the 185 should be about 1/2" taller (23" vs 23.5") - but still typically a full inch shorter than smallest 15s commonly available, and significantly smaller than the 205 or 215 open class size tires that a lot seem to end up with.

185/65 is (again, nominally) pretty close to the 175/70 that DMack offers, but it looks like most of the others with 14" are 175/65...

IMO, they're close enough that the handful of us sticking with 14s won't be unhappy with either option.

This is our Spec for our Rally tires. I do not have the info about the size when mounted, But this should give you an idea.

Does anyone else has any comments which size? If not I'll assume 185/65R14 is the right size to bring in.

I think most of the low power G2 starter cars would be faster on 175 and thats what I would buy. But like others have said either size would be great.

    I'd prefer 185/65 as well.

Thanks everyone. I'll work on seeing if I can get those tires in by next season.
