Default FS: 1977 Dodge Colt Rally Car G5

    SOLD
    1977 Dodge Colt Group 5
    SCCA Log book
    2.6 liter 4 cylinder engine
    2 50mm Mikuni Carbs
    4 wheel disc brakes
    hydraulic hand brake
    Sparco Evo seats
    Schroth harnesses
    22 gallon fuel cell
    full cage
    2 sets of panasport wheels
Rally computer made by the original owner (kinda weird but cool)
    Intercom
    Hella 2000 lights (5)
    Skid plate
Fiberglass hood, trunk lid and bumpers
    Fire Extinguishers (2)

This car was built into a rally car off of the showroom floor. Its been raced successfully since the late 70s until now. I have a ton of literature, catalogs and pictures from the original owner. Its a fun competitive car to drive and race. Rear wheel drive, light and fast and 50/50 weight balance makes for one of the funnest cars to race in my opinion.

I have a shed full of extra parts for this car. Wheels, lights, wiring, body panels, windows. The list goes on.

I raced this car in the Colorado Cog Rally from 2005 up through 2009. Since they cancelled the race and its proving to be too time consuming for me to travel to race I figured I should pass it on to someone else who can give it the life it deserves.

The Bad: The car does have some body damage from a roll in my first race. It was a gentle roll just onto the roof but the damage is there. I raced it for years after but its always bothered me. You can see the damage in the pictures.
The passenger side door is also pushed in from a big chunk of ice falling off of my roof into the side of the car. I have a replacement door for it.

    $3500 firm

    Thanks for looking

It's just some surface rust. I always intended to replace the whole quarter panel but I never found a suitable donor car that was close enough to me.

I'm assuming they're expired because I haven't raced since 2010 or so. I'll check for sure and let you know when I get home tonight.

Belts are only things that expire in US stage rally FYI.
As I recall, most of the safety parts were bought from Checkpoint Racing somewhere around 2007.

The harnesses are good thru the end of this year.
The seats are dated june of 06 but Grant is correct that they don't actually expire.
    Thanks

Awesome car! I just joined the forums and am looking for a starter car. I will be buying a house here really soon but if it is still available in a couple of months, I will be a serious inquirer. I'm sure this will probably sell before then though. Good luck with the sale!

    Thanks for the kind words.

Last weekend I worked on the car a bit: sanded some surface rust off, tuned it up a bit, changed the oil and put in a new battery. I also washed it and removed some of the old decals and put some fresh fuel in it.

I'll post some new pictures this weekend.

Unfortunately if no one picks this up by the beginning of November then its gotta go back in storage. I live in snow country and we're pretty stuck starting in November and lasting until April or May.

    Thanks
    Chris
