Hello fellow Southerners. Hello fellow Easterners( is this a word? It is now).

Just dropping by, maybe start a conversation or two.

For a Kentucky Event, the southernmost about 7 mile long section of the Little Shepherd trail (KY 1679) between US 421 and KY 2010 is approximately 7 miles of twisty lane and a half wide tarmac with no houses. The county could use the economic impact of an event: http://www.harlancountytrails.com/littleshepherdtrail.php

Think Cherokee roads, but tarmac.

the area north of the Susquehanna river east of 372 and west of 222 screams out for a rally, gravel roads with water crossings (one trail has 3 water crossings in under 3 miles) a perfect tarmac hillclimb stage from the river up over 800 ft with a single lane tunnel at the bottom before the ascent. and camber laden twisty roads throughout. The name of the park in the area has better roads then the rally that bares it's name

Without spending alot of time here at work studying your map, I'm confused. The river runs north and south, not east and west. North west to south east to be exact. Clarify and give some more details. I'm interested being only a hour away from that general area. BTW where are you from?

The pink area is the gold, the green shaded area includes Paper Mill and Pikes Peak roads. I'm just outside Baltimore and would definitely be up for giving a driving tour, not at high speed, of the roads to evaluate and explore. I'd provide a trace of the individual roads of interest if google maps had the better function to do so.

The "hillclimb" road is outlined from the north/south shoot titled unnamed road

Fishing creek Rd is the location with the 3 under water bridges, it's dirt but normally isn't rutted too badly

Fishing Creek was full of holes the last time I was down it this spring, so perhaps it's better in the fall. It's also not that long of a section, and would have a lot of considerations due to it's close proximity to the creek in places other than just the crossings. Don, think of the 3 "water crossings" as low water bridges ala RWV, but with actual water running over them. I highly doubt the Conservancy would be OK with the idea of car-in-water type situations.

You "Hill Climb" road is a bit short, and not very challenging corner wise. The last time I was out that way it was also closed excepting construction traffic.

Most of the rest of what is over that way is fairly densely populated, tarmac stuff. Which means even if you COULD get Fishing Creek, you're now talking a mixed surface event.

Don, Ifound a few more gravel sections (though larger gravel, less packed dirt/mud of fishing creek) , yesterday when checking the roads. My co worker got some video of fishing creek as well. I'm taking the conversation regarding these for use off sight though.

Yeah we reeaallyy need rally to get started down here in south Alabama. You could hold an entire championship with all of the roads down here to use as stages. I don't know if a lot of local people would join but it would sure bring a lot of spectators.
