I think he's slated to do the whole Continental Tire series this year with the same team in the GT4/GS class Vantage.

He's also on the entry list for Perce-Neige
Rallies worked: CARS: Perce-Neige, Shannonville, Lanark, Black Bear, Galway-Cavendish, Tall Pines. RA: Mt. Washington
    ...also known as VA3KDV

The car he is in qualified really well so it doesn't look like a backmarker team either...

The Continental Tire Series race is on right now and Max was running as high as 9th at one point before the driver swap

TRG is definitely not a back-marker team... they've been top-tier in Grand Am for years.

Umm TRG is "The racers group" or as we in the industry call them "gentlemen racers car hire group". They're top tier but so are 5 or 6 other teams in GT.

Yeah, but besides the gentleman drivers they've had factory support and factory drivers in their cars as well. Just take a quick scroll through their wiki page and you'll see plenty of pro drivers in their cars.

Kevin Buckler uses the "Gentlemen drivers" to help fund the team.

The current Sportscar racing rules also makes it advantageous to run a Pro-Am team. In fact the FIA/ACO are awarding "Medals" according to your ability and experience. For example this year GTE-Am entry in the WEC will be required to have one Bronze and one Silver-rated driver, or two Bronze-rated drivers
