Thanks for reminding me. Bummed I missed out the extra cheap Travelodge reservation I get every year, since it slipped my mind. But I picked up a different discounted rate at Country-Inn at $77 a night. Woot!
I believe that each day is a separate regional event for the folks scoring points toward next year's individual regional championships. For the purposes of both MaxAttack! and the 2011 Regional Rally Championship shootout thing, it is scored as a single, two-day event.
HMC in like Area 51 of the west. but only because who goes there to vacation and hunt bear and deer.
The Hurons as spoke about can be gotten too by pickup truck roads.
I patrol sometimes out there and get many funny looks at me as if I was a mirage
or something. (be careful here)
The Hurons do go up two the HMC and is well guarded by their own security, mostly ex-cops retired.
Our leaves are starting to change slightly and will make for a great fall color tour.
If you google map Skanee and Haypres Dam and Triple AAA road you can see some of the area roads, but not all are seen from the eye in the sky. Driving them makes for better times, and sore kidneys.

Fixed it for ya,Deano. I think the last time the rally used any part of the Hurons ,we used Dynamite Hill Road just east of L'Anse. As I remarked last year, the est end of the AAA is being used as a haul road for the new mine and has been vastly improved for the heavy trucks.
Wide ,flat and hard. It's no longer suitable. The west end I haven't seen in many years. I was stage captain one year for what I remember as Big Eric's Bridge. It seems like it took three hours to clear the stage and get back to Marquette when the stage ended.
These roads are not as remembered in the 80's. Most have been widened and straightened. Would be outstanding if they put together a long stage from Big Erick's to Anderson's Corner though! This section has everything! Similar to Herman. There is also a fun corner Jake Himes raved about when run in reverse.
Definitely not as rugged and rustic as the good ole days.
when will a preliminary schedule be posted? I am most interested in what time it will start the first day as my team may have some scheduling issues we're hoping to sort out
26 overall entries so far, 13 MaxAttack, little less than a month out. Not sure what the early-entry deadline is, hope there is a week or two remaining.
Ok, so poking around some old threads, there was a "Would you attend/enter a one-day LSPR?" poll from last year. There were (10) entrants who responded that they would NOT enter a 1-day rally. Now that it is back to 2 days, are you coming up this year? (I cannot view the poll participants, so am not sure who responded this way without going thru the thread again.)
It's already sanctioned by Rally America, Inc. There's no real change in the legal status of the company, in terms of contractual obligations, with a purchase, so I'm unsure what kind of input you are after.
If we don't know that there is an agreement to transfer ownership of stock or when that may or may not occur, along with a change of in officers, speculating here would really seem to just crap on the event announcement, and I don't believe that's your intent.
We are under the wings of RC/RA, they will be here with us for LSPR to help with the event. JB and Mike Hurst and others will be here to enjoy the event.
At this time LSPR has not moved, we support and are supported by RC/RA.
To the teams entering LSPR we are going to have the web site fixed with all updated info, we have some miner details to fix, in the mean time, listed co-driver if you wish to PM me I will be happy to forward to you the Supps.
I have your name on the entry list thus I will respond to the Co-driver, since the co-driver needs to know the info most of the time.

I would so love to do that, but the only way most of us make this event work financially is through carpooling, starving ourselves, etc.. I can't imagine how we would be able to make it work, though I will reach out to the organizers and see if there is some way we could help that would be low impact on our schedule.
Gotta get motivated...
