I actually would love to find photos from the 1998 Treeline. I never, ever saw anything from that event.

No pics, but I remember talking to you at that event. 11 years went by already? Scary..
I was a miata owner at that time and was very intrigued by your entry.

I remember our conversation, as well, and I can hardly believe it happened 11 years ago myself. You certainly have come a long way!

I still have a lot of confidence in the car, and even though that was my first and only rally to date, I'm itchin' to put another car together and get out there again.

    Dan

You drove a white Mazda at Treeline 1999?

    SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME!

Dan, I checked all through my pics, none of you (just me!). I know I have some more from service that my brother took, but I can't find them. Highly unlikely you were in the background, but I was trying! That results page is all the proof you need, though. Thanks for reminding me of my DNF in my last event in my 240Z, Patrick!

Sorry about that. It wasn't my greatest event either.

Thanks for trying. I have the results, and the stage breakdowns too, but I'm looking for an action photo because that particular car has a unique history and I'm in the process of restoring it for a 20th anniversary Miata festival. I really need a action photo from Treeline to complete the story.

Bill at Motorsports Memories looked at his archived negatives. No luck there. (Thanks for trying, Bill!). So the flashbulb I saw go off on stage 3 was shot by someone else. It had to be a friend, crew or family member. This search is sounding like an impossible longshot.

We were just getting started then and did not shoot everyone but I found a couple of rolls from Treeline '99. Unfortunately no Mazda, but MR2, Audi, RX-7 with tire tracks on the hood etc. I got into the business because I had so few pix from my rally career, so now is the time to mine my archives from the last 10 years! Negs are more difficult than the digital we have used since 2003 but they are there and accessible.

Thanks for looking through the negatives, Bill. I really appreciate it. Hopefully some amateur will crawl out of the woodwork.

For now, here's a shot my navigator, Ken Tooker, shot in the rally HQ parking lot and an action shot taken by Wiley Davis after the event at Tombstone paintball park.
