    Default Treeline.

As of this date, I have relinquished my post as Chairman of the Treeline Rally.

The Treeline name and domain remains with me to go forward to any future event I may organize, but the roads are still available for those wishing to use them.

Thank you all for your support over the years.

    Pete,
I don't blame you for giving it up. Thanks for all the hard work you have doen over the years.
I have to ask though, how can you relinquish your chairmanship of Treeline rally, but retain the name and domain. Is the name Treeline Rally yours?

Is there a story behind this? Who will pick up the reins?

the domain name cannot be taken with out this persons permission. Chris would have to agree to transfer the domain name to Pete.

I think you'll find that the domain name is now in my name.

you may want to double check that. It does not show that on any registrars websites.

I don't care what you found or what it says. The facts are not as they appear. I spoke to Chris on Sat and the facts that I have complement what he told me regardless of what you read.

If what you're trying to say is that we should not listen to Network Solutions, the corporation that was originally legal charged with managing and maintaining internet domain names by the US government, that built ARPAnet, which was the original backbone of the internet, and which is still connected with the actual official database of domain names and owners, and believe you instead, then fine Pete, you own the name.

Dude, I think that Bret was trying to help you by saying "Hey, check into this, and make sure your transfer gets straightened out." But I'm only guessing at that because he said "I hope this helps you." If Chris has started a transfer process, letting Bret know would be sufficient, as it sure sounds like you're jumping down his throat.

If you would like or need any info on transferring domain names, I would be happy to help supplying info. I hate when a former rally site gets cannibalized into a search engine portal by someone buying up expired domain names, and I wouldn't want that to happen to treelinerally.com. It's already happened to a few other sites, and that's unfortunate. (like wildwestrally.com and did lspr.com used to be the site back in 2001 or so? maybe?)

Again, let me know if any help is needed.

    Cheers,
    Anders

Your question is probably answered in Rally University.
