TKmann,
Welcome to the forum! Minnesota is actually a good place to be! There was just a rally up there a couple of weeks ago, Nemadji Trail Rally in Duquette, Headwaters regional, and Ojibwe...
Welcome Jeff!
Glad you're getting into co-driving, check out the link in my signature to the NASA Rally Sport Rally University and read through it to get a good idea about what everything is...
It's hard, so far out. Good luck! How's the car coming?
Who has an $80k rally car? There's a few more (Fetela, Wallingford) but I don't see anyone out there running anything more than $30k, and those are the open class guys. Plus racing on credit never...
It depends on how serious you are about competing for road racing, but at the very least you'd want to change out your springs (to a higher rate) when you go to the asphalt setup, I don't know enough...
I wouldn't call the MkIV VW a "Good" starting platform... Spares are plentiful but they would take a lot to make the suspension reliable enough for rally. The only MkIV Golf stage car that I know of...
Respectfully I disagree. There have been a multitude of events on Both US Coasts, as well as in Canada with CXE that have run UTVs and bikes in the rally. Does it HAVE to be a car? UTV's use notes,...
Definitely no stigma for Rally on the west-coast. The ONLY WRC event the US has ever had was in Washingtion near Seattle, back in the 80's.
Check out

Glad that you're getting involved! What kind of history do you have? What car are you planning of using?
The forums are unfortunately a ghost town nowadays, the conversation has mostly shifted to...
Welcome! Hopefully you can make it out to some rallies, it's pretty light in the forums lately...
Welcome to the forum! How's the car coming? If you're planning a build make sure to read the car prep rules thoroughly and ask your local scrutineer for help and input.
Hopefully you're still...
Wecome! Hopefully you're still around, unfortunately it's a bit of a ghost town here nowadays.
Welcome! Be sure to get involved! The Oregon Rally group gets together to put on rallycrosses, as well as organizing the Oregon Trail Rally: http://oregonrally.com/
Check out the link in my...
You're welcome mate, let us know if you have any questions, we'll be happy to answer.
Great that you could make it out to LSPR, that's probably the closest to you. In the other direction you might be able to get to Ojibwe Forest rally in Minnesota, or Central UP rally which is also in...
Tight budget is hard! Unfortunately you need budget to go rallying, there's no getting around it. Want to get involved? Find events near you and go volunteer! Southern Ohio Forest Rally is right in...
There is a Great rallyx group in the North East as well, and they sometimes to Rally Sprints at Team O'Neil as well. North East RallyCross (NER), and there's a bunch of folks there that are also...
Welcome welcome! Where are you currently living? (general area)
Team O'Neil is a good start, though things fade over time. Keep your eyes out here and the Facebook buy/sell group (mostly...
Well, if he's bought into Dirtfish then its AWD or RWD (and most likely AWD). All kidding aside welcome!
What sort of budget do you have? Be aware that Rally America has novice restrictions for...
For your budget, you could get the Jetta and do the cage updates and not have to worry about it.
The Honda looks like a nice car as well, been around a while because a 12k+ 2wd car is a hard sell...
Not sure about thriving, as most folks have shifted over to the Facebook groups but there's still some people here!
Oof, it was a bit more for that Mazda, but it's a heck of a car from what I can tell. $15k for the car $17,500 with extensive spares.
It's a good thought! Plus depending on the sanctioning body (Rally America especially), you wouldn't be able to run a turbo car as a novice.
There's a great starter car for sale on the Facebook...
Welcome Adrienne!
There's actually a few rallies around you that are (relatively) close if you're in the LA area, you should check out the California Rally Series website at:...
