Folks:
Take a look at www.precisionracingorg.com. This is an autocross series (outside of the SCCA, BTW), which is running about 30 events nationally at various tracks and other venues throughout the US with contingency money - up to $500 for the winner of the event, $10K for the national winner. They got $70K from the Tire Rack, and another $50K from somewhere else. Without commenting on how nice it is to have series sponsors, and the money that can save the competitor, I think the business model is interesting.
Take that model for closed venue (e.g. racetrack, motocross park) rallysprints. 30 events nationally. Cheap entry. Good competition. Great exposure. Captive crowds.
Anybody interested? Topeka, can you hear us?
Regards,
Wilson
