Cline Racing Sports on the way to debut on the West coast

The American and Polish team of Evan Cline and Grzegorz Dorman will continue their season in the Rally America National Championship Series this weekend at the Oregon Trail Rally. Round 3 of the 2012 championship is located in the area around Mt Hood, as well as at the Portland International Raceway downtown Portland, OR. This will be the first time the team together raced this event.

Currently third in the Super Production class championship standings, the Exedy Rally Team is hoping for a clean event which should bring them closer to the top two contenders in the class standings. Cline is posted in the top ten on the starting list of 63 cars entered in the event.

Cline Racing Sports competed in the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood about two months ago and had a good run until the faulty drive-by-wire accelerator pedal made the car go into the limp mode. This resulted in over 8 minutes lost on Saturday stages. Problem was corrected and the team went from almost last position in the rally to 13th overall and 4th in Super Production making up over 3 out of 5 minutes that they have lost to the podium in the class. “What a chase that was on Sunday, if we didn’t get two punctures while passing another vehicle on the stage on Sunday morning we could have been on the last step of the podium.” – says Cline.

Oregon Trail Rally will consist of over 113 the some of the most spectacular competitive stage miles of the Rally America Championship and will end on Sunday afternoon in Dufur, OR.

Exedy Rally Team will also take part of the fan appreciation day on Thursday in downtown Portland, OR where Subaru Impreza STI #669 will be on the display from 10am until 2pm. Evan Cline and Grzegorz Dorman will also be available to chat, pictures and autographs for the last hour of the display that day.

Evan Cline, CRS driver: “The coming months of the championship are really busy with races every month. I believe that staying in the car is going to make me more confident in the car and will allow me to build precision. I’m excited that my team has made it out west for the first time as well as starting in the top ten. We are constantly improving times and I think there is a lot of room for more improvement. We will be faster and will fight for the podium in the championship to the end.”

Grzegorz Dorman, CRS co-driver: “It is awesome to be able to race on the west coast, I am very excited even though I haven’t had the best luck here. We feel good about the roads, the car and are happy to get back in the car. Amazing road with three days of racing in a beautiful area of the country is why we like this championship.”

Cline Racing Sports is supported by Exedy Racing Clutch, Disc Brakes Australia, Hawk, Recaro, Innovate Motorsports, Magnus Motorsports, Whiteline and Mobsteel.
