Last weekend saw the fourth round of the Silverstone Tyres BTRDA Rally Series when the Plains Rally took place whereby the Wiseman Dairies Subaru B13 liveried ‘Cow Car’ driven by Dave Howells finished a creditable seventh overall, but more importantly took the lead in the Hankook MSA Welsh National Championship.

Mixed weather prevailed throughout the day on the Welshpool based event which comprised over 45 stage miles through some of the world’s most famous gravel stages to make the fight at the front tighter than ever, but following recent upgrades and changes to the TEG Sport prepared Subaru, nothing prevented Howells in his Wiseman Dairies car from setting consistent top ten stage times ensuring a solid finish.

David, from Manchester said: “What a great end to a great day! I’m really pleased to be here at the finish and with a good result, seventh overall and third in class is not a bad show considering I was up against the World Rally Cars, but to be leading the championship is great news and just where I want to be. Aside from a few minor changes to the set up after the morning service halt, the car has been faultless all day and I’m really looking forward to the next round now.”

Regular Wiseman Dairies BRC co-driver Jules Wilkinson commented: “Dave has continued to improve all year and yet again this finish just shows how consistency and reliability is the key to pushing towards trying to win championships. We will be out again on the Severn Valley National Rally and will be doing our best to stay at the front of the fight for hopefully another ‘udderly’ brilliant result! I would like to take this opportunity to thank Wiseman Dairies and TEG Sport for their continued support.”

The Severn Valley National Rally starts from the Royal WelshShow Ground in Builth Wells on Saturday 4th June.
