* Rally racing returns to the Portland area with the Oregon Trail Rally, May 13-15th.

* Live Rally Radio, powered by Dick Hannah Subaru, will broadcast real-time statistics, scoring, commentary, and driver interviews during the 3 day event.
* This is the first time that a dedicated Live Radio program will cover a Rally America event.

The premier United States national rally series is returning to Portland and the scenic Columbia Gorge this weekend, May 13-15th. The 2011 Oregon Trail Rally stands as the fourth event on the Rally America national championship calendar. Top drivers in several classes of competition vehicles will come from across the U.S. and Europe to drive on the best rally roads in America.

Returning for the 2011 season is the Subaru Rally Team USA with BMX Legend and X Games star, Dave Mirra, and a driver familiar to longtime rally fans, Britain’s David Higgins, 2002-2003 Sports Car Club of America ProRally Championship and the 2004 British Rally Championship. Meeting the Subaru blitz will be returning 2010 Rally America National Champions, Antoine L’Estage and Nathalie Richard from Quebec, Canada. These factory teams will want a strong finish in Oregon to hold off the challenge of current Rally America point’s leader Travis Hanson in his privately entered Subaru.

New for 2011 will be the inclusion of Oregon Trail Rally’s Live Rally Radio, powered by Dick Hannah Subaru. Live Rally Radio will bring real-time statistics, scoring, commentary, and driver interviews to the listening audience via an internet radio feed located on the OregonTrailRally.com website. The broadcast can be heard via any broadband connection, whether desktop computer or smart phone, anywhere in the world.

Live Rally Radio Chief, Jeff Lemley, is excited at the prospects for this new project. “Traditionally, rally in North America has been very compartmentalized and it can be hard to keep up on the latest developments as the race progresses. With the advent of Live Rally Radio, we hope to be able to bring the rally racing enthusiast closer to the action by talking with the teams at the end of each stage to get their thoughts on the previous leg and comments on their performance overall, plus be able to provide up to the minute timing and scoring results, as well as updates on withdrawals from the event. All as it happens live.”

Live Rally Radio, powered by Dick Hannah Subaru, is a free service, and is scheduled to be available for live streaming from the Oregon Trail Rally website from 6-10 PM on Friday, May 13th, 10 AM-9 PM on Saturday , May 14th, and 10 AM-8 PM on Sunday, May 15th.

The three-day Oregon Trail Rally contest includes 17 timed competitive special stages, with the action taking place at Portland International Raceway, presented by Dick Hannah Subaru, on Friday and on the challenging forest and county gravel roads around Hood River, The Dalles and Dufur on Saturday and Sunday.

Fans will have a chance to meet the drivers and see the cars close up at the Parcs Expose to be held at Portland International Raceway on Friday, May 13th, near the Kmart in The Dalles on Saturday morning, May 14th and in downtown Dufur on Saturday and Sunday, May 14-15th. Dufur will host a number of community fund raising events in conjunction with the race: a Saturday evening BBQ, and a Sunday morning breakfast.
