After good performance in Missouri, Super Production duo to miss Olympus and Oregon, to be back at STPR

Cline Racing Sports driver Evan Cline and his co-driver this season Greg Dorman make a disappointing withdrawal from both west coast events of Rally America National Championship Series. The team’s decision doesn’t come easy after a close showdown at the last event between fellow class competitors at the 100 Acre Wood Rally.

The CRS crew piloted their 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX to 4th place in Super Production class and 11th overall at the second round of the championship in Missouri. With a puncture on special stage 7 the team was happy to finish with such impressive results. Again they proved that their under-powered WRX can put in good and improving stage times against the more powerful STIs in their class.

“100AW was a fantastic rally for us. We were cutting consistent top ten stage times with our minimally modified 2.0L WRX. This was a terrific boost in confidence for us to be able to back up our speed on the snow with fast times in the gravel,” said Cline.

Cline Racing Sports currently sits 5th in Super Production class, and sadly won’t be able to make the next two events in the championship. Evan comments, “We are very disappointed about not making the trip, but we will be ready for STPR and our car will look and perform a lot different.” He adds “We would like to apologize to our sponsors for not making it to Olympus and Oregon rallies, but we promise to fight for the best position at the last two events of the season.”

After STPR, the Cline Racing Sports / Exedy Rally Team car will be on display at the Wicked Big Meet, the largest Subaru gathering on the East Coast. Then the team will compete at the final round of the championship, New England Forest Rally in Maine.

Cline Racing Sports is supported by Exedy Racing Clutch, Disc Brakes Australia, Hawk, Recaro, Innovate Motorsports, Magnus Motorsports, Whiteline and Mobsteel.
