Chris Duplessis and co-driver Catherine Woods took an early lead in their 2010 Sparco Scion xD on Friday afternoon at the Sno*Drift rally in Northern Michigan. Their brand new car was allowing the duo to set amazing stage times blowing away the two-wheel-drive competition.

The rally seemed to be going in their favor until 0.75 miles into Stage 7, the final stage of the day; they hit a rock that caused a puncture to the left front tire. The two stopped to change the tire in frigid weather, which took them about ten minutes. To add to the misery, their rally lights were not functioning and they drove the last three stages of the day in complete darkness with only their street lights. At the end of Day One, Chris was sitting in 5th place in 2WD and 21st overall. He had 10 minutes to make up the next day to claim first place in 2WD.

Day two was a complete success for the team as they made up over nine minutes on the leading team. What was even more impressive was the stage win by Duplessis/Woods on East Branch Long and third overall stage time on Camp 30 and Thunder River.

Chris and Catherine finished 2nd overall in 2WD and 10th overall in the Sno*Drift Rally, Round One of the Rally America Championship.
