Van Way, with both a new car and new co-driver, drove a clean and consistent rally to win both the National 2-Wheel-Drive and Sno*Attack classes. A Louisiana native, Van Way’s entire snow driving experience has been limited to competing at Sno*Drift.

Sno*Drift marked the debut of the all new 2011 Ford Fiesta in the 2-Wheel-Drive class. Although class rules allow performance modifications, Van Way’s Fiesta, completed the week of the event, sported a completely stock 1.6 liter motor and transmission. With limited testing opportunities, he focused on driving a smooth and clean event, taking the lead on day one and holding it through the remainder of the event.

Despite icy and treacherous conditions Van Way had few issues, bringing the car to the top of the podium in showroom condition.

Jake Blattner, a veteran co-driver who previously contested the SP Championship, partnered with Van Way for their first foray into a national event. The duo competed at Ojibwe Forest Rally the previous year in a run up toward the 2011 season. The pair will contest the full series together in a bit to regain Van Way’s 2009 Driver’s Championship.

Dillon Van Way is contesting the full 2011 Rally America National Championship in a new car. Details about the competition vehicle will be released in the weeks before Sno*Drift. Team 600 is comprised of 2009 Rally America 2-Wheel-Drive Champion Driver Dillon Van Way and Co-Driver Jake Blattner.
