Kick Energy rally driver Steve Perez claimed yet another Silverstone Tyres BTRDA Rally Championship victory on the 55th running of The Cambrian Rally, making it six wins out of eight rounds.

In very wet and slippy conditions, Perez from Chesterfield, and Welsh co-driver Paul Spooner, were once again out in the BTR-prepared ex Marcus Gronholm Ford Focus WRC07 and stopped the clocks in the first stage Clocaenog, just 2 seconds ahead of Hugh Hunter and Andy Marchbank’s Focus WRC.

However, in stage two the conditions got the better of the Perez and a spin and an overshoot saw him drop eleven seconds to Hunter/Marchbank but, on the following stage, in Penmachno North it was Hunter who lost time by going off. They allowed the Kick Energy pair to move back to the top of the leader board and maintain that lead over the remaining stages.

After the event Steve said “Those are some of the worst driving conditions I have ever competed in on a championship round, it was due to the weather that I lost time on SS2. I am so happy to win this event as that makes six wins out of eight rounds and it was just a little bit extra icing on the cake after clinching the Championship title on the Woodpecker.”

The co-driver’s seat is in the iconic Kick Energy Lancia Stratos, so this really is a once in a lifetime experience and the lucky winner of the auction can also bring 3 friends along who will be treated to a day’s VIP spectating and accommodation in the 4* Casa Hotel. (

The auction will take place on the online auction site Ebay ( and the auction number is 220682146437. Full details can be found on the auction page.

Steve is also offering the chance for any sponsors or fans to have their stickers on the car for the duration of the event, the sponsorship packages will be 100 pounds and again all proceeds will go to the Martyn Lewis fund.
