This weekend the Prescribed Burn Rally Team is traveling to Alberta for the Kananaskis stage rally, the last rally of the season. The recent National Pacific Forest Rally, near Merritt BC, was disappointing for driver Mark Jennings-Bates and co-driver Jennifer Daly. Rear subframe fatigue could not withstand the rough and bumpy PFR roads, and the team was forced to withdraw from the rally early Saturday afternoon.

A very different set of challenges will test the team at Kananaskis. The rally begins with the short, technical forest loop, likely to be snow-covered given the recent winter weather. The epic Powderface stage demands a high level of commitment to the notes to achieve the fastest time, and it is generally accepted that Powderface is where the rally is won or lost. The Prescribed Burn Team set excellent times on Powderface during the Rocky Mountain Rally in May, and the long, sweeping stage is one of Mark’s favourite to drive.

The Prescribed Burn Rally Team is currently tied for the lead in the Open Class Championship, and will be driving hard for a podium finish this weekend. The Prescribed Burn service crew have been hard at work getting the rally car prepared to withstand one last event, in pursuit of the Open Class title and memorable finish to a tough rally season.

The Prescribed Burn Rally Team is an Okanagan based performance rally team that is supported by, Sun FM, Agar Paint & Autobody, BigO Tire in Westbank, Wyatt Auto Parts, Provision Data, Stacy Screen Print, The Great Canadian Oil Change, Wishbone Industries, BELL Racing and Kelowna Moving Centre.
