pfr07_rspre.jpgRichmond Auto Body driver Scott Trinder has entered the 2007 Pacific Forest National Rally to be held in Merritt BC this October 19/20, 2007. Scott has entered the televised national event as a shakedown for both himself and the car, and is planning to run a full calendar in 2008. The team will be running in their right hand drive Subaru Impreza WRX-RA

“I am really excited to get out and go rallying again. I have taken some down time since PFR 2005 to expand my family. During this time I participated in the CACC Regional Autocross Championship,” said Scott.

Scott not only ran in the CACC Regional Autocross Championship he won his class overall in 2006, and is leading it so far in 2007.

Weather may be the wild card at this year’s event. With three feet of snow on the Coquihalla this last week (October 1), and rally stage elevations considerably higher than the Coquihalla summit, teams will likely be bringing a selection of tires to handle the unpredictable weather. “I am excited about Bridgestone’s continued support of our team. I hope for snow, as the Bridgestone snow and ice tires we have have proven to be very effective,” said Scott.

The rally runs over two days, and Friday’s stages begin in the early evening and run into night. “I am very fortunate to have PIAA Canada on board as one of our sponsors, they have supplied us with an amazing lighting system which has proven very reliable and effective at other night events,” said Scott.

Just back from competing in Targa Newfoundland 2007, Bob Trinder will accompany Scott as navigator.

‘It is great that Scott is running again, I am looking forward to the event,” said Bob.

Pacific Forest is the premier Canadian National Championship rally event held on the west coast, and with its close proximity to Vancouver it is worth the trip to see rallying live. The event includes an in-town stage in Merritt, a central service “pit stop” area in the downtown core, and an incredible gravel stage just 2km out of town. If you are planning spectate at the event, log onto for location, hotel, and spectator details.
