This video was on Autoweek's website for some time, and Josh (a credential'd photog/reporter) worked out an arrangement with PPIHC to allow for his videos (us and a guy on a bike) to be posted.

Some PPIHC officials tried to come at Josh pretty hard regarding those videos.

I don't think the BoD for PPIHC wants to embrace the truth or really get aggressive about a real marketing attack. They keep saying changes are coming and then doing the same thing, or worse.

They are in Colorado Springs so we can't expect too much of them. I don't think I've ever seen a PPIHC show that was worth watching. I'm glad I missed last year if it just focused on the Vagholtz family.

It's funny how no one seems to think that 800 hp is enough to break the 10 minute mark.

I was thinking the same thing Grant. It might not be enough if your car is powered by a BB Chevy and weighs as much as a dump truck. It should be plenty to get a Fiesta moving.

If its a true 800 at the startline, it'll be enough assuming the cars are 2000ish pounds. I think Monster said his XL-7 was 1000hp at sea-level, and I heard someone say his car was 2400ish pounds.

Anybody know if those are "stock" photos of the cars in standard rallycross trim, or should we expect some sort of aero treatments are in the works? Anybody know what sort of tires they plan on running...and where I can grab a set? :P

Not sure what you can believe these days on the internet, but I read that one of the cars is RA bound.

It will be interesting to see what the Marcus Gronholm 5-door version will look like as the 3-door car is awesome

Also Mark Rennison who was a british rallycross champion will be competing up the hill in an ex mach 2 racing RS200

Doug - from what I have seen on the MSE site and ERC24.com, these cars are based on the rallycross spec cars and won't be road legal. The spec they will come in would be illegal in RA given the diffs, sequential box, etc.

Of course, Andreas won't have a lot of us for them back in Europe so if Ford or an individual wants to buy one at about $400k then I am sure he would leave on here.

Henning Solberg has one of Andreas cars and Marcus won the Swedish round of the ERC in one last year and Andreas won the second round of the ERC in the new shape.

Should be fun!

Mark

Same car but with much refinement since. Think the last I heard/read was somewhere around 1100 or 1200 hp. It was around 800 the year Stig drove it. (2004)
