Default First time bringing off-road and rallying together @ Off-Road Fest 2012

Arizona Extreme Rally in Surprise, Az is on even though we have 4 entrees...we are going for it because we have to...the public is expecting to see rallying at the venue which is Speedworld on Feb 17/18, 2012.

Now Speedworld is a very famous track located in Surprise, Az. It is a HUGE dirt track facility that can handle different types of motorsport disciplines. If you watched the Lucas Oil Off-Road series this past year whiched aired on CBS Sports, Speed and MAV TV it was at this track. Which brings out over 5000 spectators to this venue.

We are expecting over 3500 spectators which is mainly your hardcore off-road fans.

What is unique about this event is that for the first time we will have off-road teams using a rally course and the routebook made by Pat McMahon who is the clerk of the course. This is a big deal since we are trying to get more off-road teams to cross over to rallying. Since there are so many off-road teams just centralized in SW regon which is about 400 teams.

But we are not forgetting about our rally teams because they are going to be the rally ambassadors to answer questions and help the public better understand what rallying is about and where to go to see these rallys. Plus, they are going to have a unique rally course (dirt grand prix road course style).

Yes, it will be the same stage format rallying with a MTC out from service and a ATC/STC in front of the grand stands so that the fans can see a control zone.
You can almost see the whole action happen right there in the stands with a 4.5 mile course which they lap around 4-5 times depending upon the time schedule.

There will be morning and evening stages both days wth a MAIN Event hosted by Bilstein/Lucas Oil. The overall winners get in by finishing both events. Plus, determinig who gets 1-4th overall finishing gets monetary prize funds and Lucas Oil product and the overall winner-driver and co-driver gets a really nice trophy! (Prize funds $1000.00) (Product over $500.00)

We are working with the Arizona Off-Road Association and Lucas Oil Az Regional series and Arizona Desert Racing Association to bring together all off-road type of motorsports to pay homage that dirt sports are strong and that is why we are calling it..."Off-Road Fest 2012"

You will see the events of off-road(Pro-Lites,Stock and Heavy Metal Trucks, 1450/Prerunners, Desert and Short Course Buggies, UTV’s, SxS’s and Trophy Karts. All of the off-road races have exciting land rush starts, high speed straits, high flying jumps, moguls, and woops!), rallying will be using parts of the off-road hills but not the big ones but they will get a little bit of air and no whoops for the rallying part. There will be vendors AND you can watch the whole thing on You-Tube.

The Local Motors (Rallyfighter) will be the advance car for the rally portion and will have a Rallyfighter on display at the event.

We are looking to build off of this and grow together with rallying and off-road to finally come together for one weekend.

Already getting e-mails from some national teams that to make this event a little bit seperated from the 100 Acre Wood for 2013 so that they can get out to do this event. SO already working on that for 2013.

Per the Lucas Oil Regional Director they are expecting over 100 teams for this part...
