    Thumbs up Com Adapter for Peltor to Terraphone now complete

    Built an adapter for using a Peltor helmet on a Terraphone com system.
    This adapter is very compact at 2 3/4" in length (4" in overall length).

    This adapter has been built to amplify the signal and adapt it to the Terraphone com system. It also prevents the Peltor mic from being damaged by the Terraphone com system.

    Headset ------> Intercom ------> Status
    Peltor ------> TerraPhone ------> Complete
    Stilo ------> TerraPhone ------> Complete (in 2 versions)
    Peltor ------> Stilo ------> Complete
    Stilo ------> Peltor ------> Complete
    TerraPhone ------> Peltor ------> Not Solved (yet)
    TerraPhone ------> Stilo ------> Not Solved (yet)

    You can hit up my site to get some more details.

    ***I must give credit to a gentleman down under going by the name of BlueRex. I compiled allot of information from around the web and did a fair bit of R&D to build the adapter. BlueRex made a compact adapter a few years back and I was impressed with the overall size. Unfortunately it appears his health has prevented him from making adapters. (otherwise I would have just bought one from him...) As this is not a new and unique widget I don't feel it is right to take full credit. I just connected the dots and built my own based on my own design***

    Default cost and time to deliver

    Bryan,

    I have one of the adapters that John pointed out. It works will with only one peltor headset in the car. It won't work with two. Your idea is the next step with the preamp. Would love to test one of your adapters at Olympus since I am peltor and the car I'm in is terratrip. Any chance on testing one and getting it back to you after?

    Thanks either way

    Yeah I can make one up for you. and or I can ship you the one I made for myself. PM me with your details.

    As for cost I think $60 is a fair price considering the time and materials it takes to make the thing.

    If it fixes the volume issue between the peltor headset and the terratrip, put me on the list to purchase one. Will a pair allow use of two peltors on a terratrip system?

    Yes it fixes the volume issue.

    I have not tested two Peltor helmets on a TerraPhone [U]yet[U] I don't see a reason as to why it will not work. I am waiting on some more parts (should be in today or tomorrow). Once I have a couple more made up I will test it out with 2 Peltors.

    Please PM me with your info for ordering.

    Not to hurt Bryan's business. If you're going to buy two of these adaptors - just buy a Peltor intercom instead. Yes, about twice the money but worth it.

    Bryan, I don't suppose you'd be interested in sharing your circuit? It'd be helpful, especially over in the DIY Intercom thread.
