We are looking for 1-2 (up to 3) service crew for BRS sept 18-19 2010 for our 2wd open light impreza. My normal crew chief will be there but others are busy.

Lodging and most food provided.

Experience is not required but helpful. We are pretty low key and tend not to require a huge amount of work during service but anything can happen.

BRS is a single service each day which makes it pretty easy to set up and tear down. MTC is at or near service each day.

pm with any questions.

Edit: Working on getting back to a couple people. Will update accordingly.

It looks like we are going to have enough help for the event. Thanks for all the interest.

Don't forget the event needs volunteers too. Experienced or not I am sure they can find a spot for you.

No dig on you personally (many others have a plethora of service people). But what does the average club entrant need more than 1 crew person for. 1 person to drive the service vehicle to the appropriate spot, have the ez-up out and the jack, jack stands and some basic tools readily accessable. That gives you 3 people to do things to the car. Is everyone trashing the car that badly that they need a F1 size crew to redo the entire car? Of course, I'm there primarily to have fun, not win it all. But there have been many services where the only things we did was check the lug nuts, open the hood and look, and clean windshields. Just saying. My $.02.

No reason, I figured if somebody was interested that they might want to bring their friend. Having two is nice when I can't help settup / break down like when the MTC and service are remote from each other. Three is better. Although there was a Grp2 team at NEFR this year that serviced on their own and were able to find someone to drive their service truck to service and park it for them (it was dedicated but not for me).

To date our services have been mostly uneventful and our crew ends up helping others. The more the merrier I guess as long as there is a place for them to sleep. The way Black River is scheduled you could service on your own but I can't eat all the food or drink all the beer on my own. Being able to rest and eat something at service is nice too.

If it gets more people involved and interested in Rally then I am all for it.

Two is much safer and all around better when it comes to map reading and route finding.

Lost crew is no fun when you're waiting with no provisions in the middle of nowhere.

To prevent getting lost is the only good reason I can think of. There's always people at service willing to help if needed.
Besides, with all the problems some events have getting enough workers, any "extra" crew people should, IMHO, be volunteering to work. Once again, My $.02 and the approach I take.

Not sure why its such a big deal that Kev is looking for more then just 1 guy to help service? The #1 thing a driver needs to do is drive. Why should he be bothered with all the other details during an event?
