After Eric and I measured the GPTPR route yesterday we have some exciting details about the rally to announce! The new Field Stage is a little less than a mile long, very smooth and twisty with interesting elevation changes and should be very fast. The whole stage is a lot like last year's field portion of the rally- if you liked that, you'll love this stage. Because of the new Field Stage, the Park Stage is now .40 mile shorter than the last two years, much smoother and more like a continuos stage road than before- there should be no course-following confusion. With substantial grading and filling by our gracious host Bob Schneider the stage will be much easier to negotiate than the previous two years. That said, there will still be a few places where caution must be observed to be successful, but there's no doubt this will be the most enjoyable Park Stage yet. Because the two stages together total 2.5 miles, we will run each stage twice in each direction for a total of 8 stages per rally. There will be a Main Service in the middle of each rally and time for servicing in the transits after the second and sixth stages. As before, our CRO, Dennis Martin, will be available in the Service Area to counsel teams throughout the event. The Supp. Reg.'s and a detailed Stage Schedule will be posted on the RA and WAG websites early this week.

So get your entries in asap and help make this the best GPTPR yet!

Please pass this on to anyone you think interested.

Press on,
Dave.

Sounds like a few changes for the better. I am quite interested in seeing the field stage.

I'm still carefully going over the neon, adding some loctite, re-tightening bolts etc to various points to help prevent it from coming apart on the MX track.

I haven't seen the Cheddarwagen on the entry list yet, but I know that he would like to defend his territory against any possible invasion. C'mon Chad, lets have us a battle. You can enlist the RallyHippy to help defend Wisconsin against invaders from Ohio.

So, what's the word. is there a minimum number of entrants/deadline for this event to happen? We're planning on being there....but the entry list is looking pretty barren

As of now, Tues. morning, GPTPR has NOT been cancelled and will go on as planned even though there are currently only 8 entries. Frankly, we don't understand why more entries haven't been received yet, but we are still hopeful for Late Entries to help fill out the field.
Thanks to all those who have already shown their support.

Great! Sounds like this event will be a lot less hard on the cars than last year, so I'm looking forward to it!

But but but Wisconsin is NOWHERE near PA! ;)

I'm hoping to finish up the car tomorrow and make a commitment by the end of the day. It was so nice to hear the dizangled thing running this AM and not shutting itself off, it'd be worth the drive to flog it and hang out and have some beers with the MidWest Crew.

You're on Matt- you show up and I'm buying the Miller! We're really excited about the prospect you coming over- I promise you'll enjoy it! One tip- make sure the skid plate is securely fastened.

I talked to Chris today and gave him a message for you- PM me when you get it.
Press on,
Dave.

The GPTPR Competitors Bulletin 1 has been sent to all entrants that we have addresses for. If you did not receive it that means your address bounced or we do not have one for you- please contact me directly and I will re-send it to you. Thanks to all of you for your support of our rally- we hope you enjoy it.

Car 858 had an issue with their service rig. It is now locked in a shop's yard with all their safety equipment inside. If anyone is coming to GPTPR tomorrow and has suits, helmets or hans that they aren't using can you please bring them?

thanks,
Carl

Yes John, they should be up on the WAG and RA websites sometime this week. In the meantime, I've sent them to your e-mail.
Dave.
