So HANS come in at least 3 weights, sport, extra, and professional. Sport says it's a pound heavier than extra, didn't see the weight on the professional, but hear it's helium filled by comparison. The literature says they are the same except for weight and the sport is half the cost of the pro.

Does it matter? Once you pull your belts tight, shouldn't they all feel like they weigh 150 pounds? I don't plan on wearing it hiking...

Thanks!

Get the sport. Spend the money elsewhere. I wore a carbon model before and once the belts are on you can't tell the difference. I currently use a sport model.

Do they even make the Extra any more? When I bought mine (a 20L), I could not get that size in the extra model.

I have used all three (professional, extra, and sport) and ended up buying a sport. It wasn't worth the added $500+ to get the professional over a sport model. In the car with the belts on, I have never noticed the difference.

The only time you will notice the weight is carrying it through the airport.

Sitting on your shoulders it doesn't make any difference (except to your wallet and your ego).

But the carbon fiber looks so trick. Think of the better power to weight ratio of the car with saving all that weight. ;)

I bought the carbon fiber model off of ebay cheaper than I could buy a new Sport model. During these times there seem to be plenty of people dumping expensive racing gear.

press on,

I always thought that underwear was one of the most important safety devices you could have for those occasional "Oh $hit" moments.
