Speed Sport Uniforms (http://www.speedsportuniforms.com/index.htm)

Does anyone have one of their suits? The advantage of going with one of them over an off-the-shelf suit seems to be limited to the fact that it may fit better and it can be made in whatever color you want. At 5' 8" and not odd-shaped, I can't imagine I'll have a hard time finding on off the rack suit that fits well, and the difference between a custom suit and off the rack is at least one spare tire worth of $$$$. My other thought is that the Speed Sport uniforms use a Nomex Fleece liner which is only about a 20 TPP rating versus the liner in the G-Force suit which gives a 26 TPP.

Thoughts?

One of their standard styles, $369.

I bought a cheap $250 suit a few years ago and I really wish that I didn't. I just bought the G-Force suit and it has to be one of the best suits for the money. VERY light weight, nice fit, and it has that Euro nomex satin shine.

I just bought one from them, great value for the price. Custom fit suit in any color combo, for the same cost as a decent off the rack suit. These suits do fit differently, everything is designed to fit into place when seated. If you're a short fat guy like me, its the best option out there.

I have had one for 3 years now, 24 events. They are really nice (though I have never worn another type of suit.) Two complaints I have about them is:

1) Don't gain more than 10 lbs after getting it made... they quickly get tight in places.

2) The legs are sometimes a bit short once you sit in the car; aka, they pull up an inch once you sit, so you may want to add an inch to your leg length when you order your's. (Or maybe I just measured my legs wrong.)

Honestly? Its a fantastic suit, it fits well, and looks good. I went with green.

I would recommend them!

it looks liek they are targeting circle track/stock car guys. All i will say is that those suits fit differently than the euro styled suits. If you are an "average american" ie- slightly portly in the middle then it will probably fit fine. I have an ultrashield and it fits terribly because I am a skinny tall frame.

Ultimately you will probably forget what brand suit you are wearing as soon as you hop in the car so just get one that fits within reason and call it good. Or spend $$$$$$$$

The legs on mine ended up on the long side, but pull up to the right height when seated. I just gave them the most exact measurements I could, I figure they wouldn't be in the business if they didn't know what to do with them.

I think i asked this a long time ago... But I'll ask again... Is there any rule against 2 piece suits (Jacket/Pants)? I have a 2 piece GForce suit that I want to use, but in looking at pictures, nobody seems to wear a 2 piece suit.

I have a Speed Sport (2 piece) that I really like. Way more comfortable than my first g-force thing that was not super flattering to the female form...

The ladies seem to prefer two-piece for some reason.

I have one of these too. Fit is much better than the off the rack OMP suit I also have, but it is a lot heavier. You can get any color combo and the shiny finish if you want to be stylish like Mark H. Can't beat the price for a made to order suit.
