Hi My name is Kristopher Sieb, Im 24 yrs old, Im from Qc, Canada

after read an arcticle on the news paper about a young men who got crushed under his car and died while he was fixing it, after that I have invented a new kind of creeper to protect mechanics... The Bodyguard

i have completed the research and dev and made 4 prototypes, 2 here in canada and 2 in china

after invest for patent, prototype and devellopement ..the product is 100% completed!

---The Reason why Im posting it here--- ( Not for spamming )
I"ll go right to the point : I need a partner or someone in my Project to help me cause i d'ont have enought resources and contact in automobile domain to lift off that project alone!

* Specifications of the bodyguard creeper *

- 30 000lb Capacity Frame ( tested at 34 000 lbs )
- 1 ½ in. Tubular steel frame
- Drop shoulder area
- 6 in. All Terrain no-matic Casters
- 4 position Adjustable Headrest
- Ergonomic Backrest / Lumbar Support
- Weight about 38 lbs
- Dimension Length 56’’ in. X Width 27’’ in. X Height 15’’ in... enought to get under most of car with jack supports

here some pics and video of my invention

what is it !

what was supposed to be (in 2005)... Very first prototype in stainless

I think my creeper would be great for rally to, cause most of the time, Mechanics have to deal with rought terrain surface and no lifting systeme

*** I don't want to spam anything, in fact i have nothing to sell ! i just wanna have opinion of what should i do

- i have contacted snap-on and mac tools but they told me the same answer ..they d'ont want to kill their other creeper if this would come a security standart in the futur !!!

I took out your link to your website, it feels too spammy for my comfort. I left the rest because I think it is a good idea and will allow the discussion for now.

This is actually a pretty interesting design, and I think its cool that it folds into the little shop stool

I'm wondering if 16" is too high for a lot of jackstands? I'm not sure if I normally even get a car up that high.

I'd recommend start selling them online direct from your site, and gradually build up relationships with independent hardware stores, race shops, etc.

I agree that this would be your best course of action. This would have given me tremendous peace of mind at the last Rally-X event.

If the cost is reasonable, Id order one right away.

I showed my cousin and he said to post this link for you.

He is in no way affiliated with the business, however.

so weird, I was just searching youtube the other day looking for a specific car crash, and this video came up and I was thinking...wow, that's pretty cool.

THEN I found this thread....random.

anyway...this is pretty cool, but it might be a little bit of overkill for the average mechanic. You're right about rally competitors, but what's your price point? Might be a little high for anyone other than the professional mechanic.

I think if you go for the 'high end' market....put a $350 retail pricetag on it, and sell it to professional shops, you'll do well. Start out with a website, and then try to get distributors/etc to pick it up. McMasterCarr, places like that.

Snap on and Mac are missing a big opportunity on a high dollar item that would sell pretty quick...if it 'kills' an inferior product, what do they care?

Maybe try someone like Northern Tool? They have their own branded products.

good luck man.

yeah thats probably what im gonna do. The thing is Im at school right now and only have a job in a shop! ... i have invested all what i have to patented it. I have the patent for 17 years so i have enought time to gain some money and start production...

Made in china the Bodyguard will cost not more than 250$ if the company iv' founded would still produce it...

here in canada the cost..... :( will cost to much!!! :((

*** sorry if my replys got some mistake, Im french and don't speak very well English yet ... But im now taking 2 lessons per week to perfectly speak it !!! :)

Cool product. Have you approached any of the big tool manufacturers like Snap-on or Matco? I think you need to find a way to get the price down to no more than $150.
