Helmet issues

I have a Peltor G78 open-face helmet size large which I bought last year. The helmet fits snug but after about 20 minutes into a rally stage, I start feeling pressure and irritation just above my temples. I can't navigate well because of it. Does anyone know if this can be remedied in the helmet? I have been deciding whether I should buy a size XL.

Any advice would be appreciated. thanks.

my last dirt bike helmet did the same thing.. I pulled back the padding and little by little compacted the inner foam with my hands... don't know if this is a 'recommended' fix and/or if the Peltor has actual foam under the inner padding like this one did but it worked for me and I stopped getting headaches after 30 minutes of riding :)
