Does anyone have any experience or opinions (good or bad) about the DefNder Neck brace? http://www.defnderneckbrace.com/ Was thinking about getting this but am looking for some advice.

I searched the forum and didn't find much discussion about this particular device (other than the lawsuit)

I've had one for a few events now. I rented the R3 a couple of times and didn't care for the bit down the back. The N device is as comfortable as a HANS and has the same range of motion including the side impact tethers. It's very lightweight also. It is definitely better at retaining the belts than the HANS. Overall I have zero complaints about it and when I got it the price difference was still considerable, now the prices are a bit closer.

I would definitely recommend one over the other devices.

I haven't raced with mine yet, but tried on the competitors. I didn't car for the feel of the R3 at all and like the hans better, till i tried this one on. I like the fit and the similar design to the hans. Plus it looks like it will hold the belts better, it was less expensive and I couldn't go wrong with the obnoxious green.

I haven't ran any events with it yet, and honestly have nothing to compare it to, but the quality seems to be really good, and also lightweight.

I've worn mine on a few events now. It grows on you and I don't notice wearing it now and the belts stay put. I still feel that any H&N is not needed, I've hit 3 trees head on at high speed and a couple of big hits road racing, but for the money it's the best deal.

I couldn't disagree more on the H&N - I hit a tree nearly head on @~80mph at 07 STPR and am still feeling the effects of the whiplash/etc. Not that I have a choice, but I wouldn't get back in a rally car again w/o a H&N anyway!
