THE DIRTY JACK-O-LANTERN RALLYCROSS IS ON!!!

The Cannon Falls course is ready and will be well groomed by Sunday, November 18. The course has dried out since last month, and should be in excellent condition for the event.

Another event has been discussed, but this could be the LAST EVENT OF THE YEAR!! The championship is extremely close in some of the classes (check in the "Files" link in the left column of this page for standings), so get out there and defend your positions.

To preregister go to:

The landowner has informed me that he will have his food stand at
this event, he said he may have hot dogs, chili and maybe another type of soup. So we will eat well.

I still need volunteers for registration at the event, and help with timing and scoring. Let me know by post on this site or at the event.

Since we change back to normal time from daylight savings this weekend, the sun will be setting at about 5:00 the day of the event. I would like to start the event an hour earlier than normal, so I would like to have the first car on the course by 11:00 a.m. This means that I will need to be really organized (which is a stretch), so the schedule is as follows:

Registration 8:45AM-10:30AM
Tech 9:00AM-10:35AM
Course walk 10:00AM-10:40AM
Driver's meeting 10:40AM
First car on course 11:00AM

Entry Fee:
SCCA Members - $40.00
Non-Members* - $50.00
Spectators – Always Free!!
*Non-members can always join at the event.

To preregister go to:
http://mnautosport.com/scca-lol/rally/rallyx/events.php

Scoring:
Event scoring shall be based on the accumulation of the best score of
each run set. In the event of a single run set, that score will be
counted toward the total.

Directions to be posted later.

I just got back from the Cannon Falls site. The owner had some great ideas to modify the course, so we did.

The course will now be about 1.2 miles long, have 2 slaloms and one keyhole turn.

Should be allot of fun.

Directions are as follows:

From Highway 52 and Highway 19 Blvd intersection in Cannon Falls, head southwest for 3.6 miles. Turn left at 30th Avenue for .5 miles to 325 street. Turn left on 325 street and go approximately .8 miles to the site.

See you there Sunday, November 18.

Schedule and registration information posted earlier.

Thanks,
Guy

21 entries so far with several regulars missing from the list. Looks like we'll have a good turnout.

Looks like we're getting back some of the people who came out for the first time at the last event, as well as some new folks from the Twin Cities Mustang and MAC (Metro Autosports Council - AutoCross guys).

Don't forget, the schedule is one hour earlier than normal!

I knew that. I think. But there is also the Met Council, correct?

Anyhow, the AutoCross guys :)

We have decided that there will be no "make-up" rallycross after this one. So this will be the final rallycross of the season. So if you are in a tight points race, this is the one to attend.

This also means that instead of scoring 5 events for the championship, we only score 4 (2/3 of 6=4 vs 2/3 of 7 = 5 after rounding up), if I read the rules correctly. So now I need to go update my spreadsheet... Also competitors will need only to have run 3 events instead of 4 for year-end awards.

Plus anyone who wishes to be eligible for a year end award must join SCCA or SSAC (if not already a member) before the start of the event!

One last thing. When you approach the site from 19, make sure you use 30th street to get to 325th street, as the instructions describe.

The owner has requested that we use this way to minimize traffic on the other street past a local development.

Thanks,
Guy

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Dirty Jack Rallycross in Cannon Falls this weekend. We had a field of 29 cars, and had a great time.

I appreciate everyone working there shifts and doing whatever we asked when we needed it.

Have a great winter, and we will hopefully see you all next season!!

Me too!

Great first outing with my '93 Legacy. Have some more work to do, worn suspension bushings make it very much like driving an ocean liner, but I'm pleased with the car.

Also great fun watching Jim Cox and Brent Carlson trading off runs in Jim's rally truck. Oh, so that's how its done! I was able to watch Brent's last run and we may have to start tieing one of his arms behind his back pretty soon to give the rest of us a chance. I'm used to being beat by Mark U. and now this?!
