I road from Tennessee to Moab on my KTM 950 on the TAT in summer 2005. I was planning on doing the whole trail but bailed in utah due to deep sand and wet sand issues.

I am planning on finishing the route from Moab to Oregon this summer on my DRZ400.

I have the Tennessee sections, and last spring ran it on the canceled CT weekend with a group out of the Southeast in cars to evaluate it as a long TSD rally. Covered 500 miles overnight from 10:00 p.m. until 10:00 a.m. Not much gravel on the Tennessee sections until you hit West Tennessee, but then found some neat stuff. I know of a lot more gravel roads in East Tennessee which could be used.
