The last straw was the other day watching rally Argentina when nascar cut in and ran a story about a stupid roundy round race, these idiots don,t seem to get it, we don,t like Nascar racng, The ralling public is HUGE, we have money to spend on our sponsers , either they give ralling a fair go, this includes 1 hour SCCA events or we should take our ralling and our sponsers to a other channel, what do you all think:)

I do beleive the problem with that plan is in "finding one that cares." When was the last time you saw a corporation that cared about more than the bottom line? And in THIS country Rally enthusiasts are a paltry handfull compared to the legions of budwieser swilling NASCAR fans.

i ithink that there is more rallying on now than ever before.
I said this before, but doesn't hurt to say it again.
I love that Nascar is paying my ticket to watch WRC.
If they keep the same way or even move the WRC program to 2am. It is fine with me, as long we have it.
Yes, I would be upset if I wasn't at home(so I could stop the tape), but then I would think: "oh well... I still have SEVERAL replays of this leg that I can tape later".
I just think that people complain too much.
Cheers to Nascar,
CS
Speed is doing a god job. For the fisrt season we have same day coverage of each day. When last year we only had the resume of the race 3 weeks after it happen. And they show each day and the resume a least 3 times a week. The day you have more people intrested in Rally than Nascar, then you can dump Speed. For now thank you Speed. The only thing I like to see more is SCCA Rally, and 1 hours could be better. Maybe next season. Baby steep, baby steep.

How about a Discovery Rally channel (they've got a channel for flying, same thing to some, right? ;) )
Or maybe get some stuff on ESPN?
How much do you think it costs for air-time on Speed? Maybe the key is to use the independent photographers for video coverage of the event, with part of the entry fees going to pay for the "paid programming" broadcast of the event.
Or maybe the key is to do a bit of digital editing and show the occasional NASCAR vehicle wrapped around a tree as Rally cars go by, thereby qualifying it as an event worthy of Speed Channel coverage.... :7

I like the last option... we could even put a few at parc expose, and at service.

Why don't we pitch rally to Comedy Central? It would fit in well with the whole "Comedy Central Sports" theme. Look what it has done for BattleBots. Although ours is getting to be fairly serious sport, by nature there should still be enuf comedic content to satisfy a network. Face it, there is something kinda silly about driving cars through the woods at breakneck speeds, and factor in lots of roll overs and crashes, and the fact that people don't normally get hurt.
Plus we could mix in some typical stupid driver comments (in a Scandanavian accent of course), such as "But vee vere going so fast der, vright up until zee end". Heck, in my short 2.5 years of rallying, I've got more funny stories than most people get in a lifetime. Seriously, I think rally could work on a channel like Comedy Central, especially if it was aired next to shows like BattleBots. Rally just isn't your typical motorsport, so why try and chase the typical motorsports viewer? Expose the sport to the non traditional audience and see what happens.

Nascar is redneck racing. How hard is it to drive a Chevy around in a circle. It takes a redneck to do something that stupid

I'm just glad I found a place where no one has any prejudices or biases...
At least you get SpeedChannel or whatever it's called nowadays. Us country folk just don't have the means.

this is not a flame and im sure you were using sarcasm but come on! 180mph average lap speeds w/43 other fools in cars w/30 year old technology and nearly 800hp that has got to be damn hard!
yeah i was annoyed cuz i wasnt home to stop the tape and had to wait till later to see the stages. but i think this was an unusual circumstance since the winston is their highest watched race after daytona.

We could get Dave Attell from Insomniac to host it. He'd make it hilarious. :)
Whewww. Stop sniffing the pain fumes, Eric.

Nascar is the second greatest motorsport on earth.
Who out there doesn't like seeing 10-20 cars pile up all at once?
