Folks,
We are currently sitting at 13 solid pre-registered entrants. We also have 3 maybes.
This does not meet our goal of 15 pre-registrants and 5 maybes/walk-ins.
The Competition Board will make an official announcement, whether or not the event will go on, tomorrow.
In the interim, I encourage you to either register online or at least let me know that you're trying your best to make it to the event.
You can register here: http://www.geekspeedrally.com/dogdaze/
You can email me here: breon @ hotmail . com
If the event is canceled, all online payments will be refunded in full.

After all the work the landowner has gone through to make this happen, we had better run this event. We wouldn't want to lose this venue over being 2 entries short.

i agree. i am sorry i cant be there. but i would like to run there in the future. it sounds like he has done a lot of work. even if we dont run he deserves some sort of compensation. he did a lot of work w/the impression he would be compensated.

May I humbly suggest that all of us contribute a couple of bucks to keep the event and the venue afloat? If you could set up a PayPal link or something that would take arbitrary contributions, I'd donate a few bucks, and perhaps enough others would contribute to make up the missing entries.
How about it? Even if you can't make it - is it worth $5 to keep rallycross going at a great venue?

i would contribute 5 dollars. but i think that 13 entries w/three maybes sounds good enough to run to me.

I'd gladly give an extra 5 bucks or so.
We're coming down on Saturday to bike on the trails east of town.
We'll be camped at the Lake Byllesby campground.
If anyone else is, we should get together.

As of now the event HAS NOT been canceled. Let's make sure we're not having it before we start setting up a Cannon Falls Charity fund :)
The landowner will be compensated for his time, in some way shape or form.

I think the "charity fund" would be to ensure than the event happens, even if there are slightly fewer entries than we would wish.
Looking forward to it. If I can make it.
I preregistered, so I'm not going to back out on paying if I can't make it. If I don't, I'll consider my entry fee my donation to the "charity"
Wish I had time to scour up a set of used rally tires to fit the nice (nice is relative, they're in fact quite beat and ugly) 15" OZ gravel wheels I just received, but I'm 100% sure I won't have a chance to do that before Sunday.

That's the way I understood it.
I'd bet that darn near everyone signed up would VOLUNTEER to put 5 bucks in a pot if it meant running or not.

Perhaps we could look at a "group buy" or "quantity discount" situation at future events?
example only:
Based on the number of pre-registered entrants:
5-9 entrants $40 member/$50 non-member
10-14 entrants $35/$45
15+ entrants $30/$40
And anyone who didn't pre-register would pay $5 more.
Just an idea. I realize it would make it hard to pre-collect fees.
