I picked up an 83 GTi rally car which they used to drive apparently (the names are still on the car)

I'm looking for info on the car...history, pictures, what rallies it competed in, and here's the kicker: If they still have the title?!?!

Any info on how to contact them would be great!

Here's some pics:

Here's what the rumor mill has told me:
Used to be a purpose-built rally car 10 years ago, then was ice-raced and rally-x'd for 5 years, then it sat for 5 years, was given to a Mr. Koll in Stevens Point, and now I bought it from him! All-together, it's been rolled six times...I'm going for double-digits. Already have it running, and driveable, so that's the first step! Now I just need to find a good jump.

Thanks in advance

Rare Kamei scoop which I'll sell on Ebay for more than I bought the car for

Sadly, Lynn Anderson is no longer with us. I'll email you Stuart's contact information.

Edit: Make that PM...no email in your profile.

You're in luck. I have a photo of the car on Two Inlets from 1995 at home! I'll try to get it scanned in in the next week or so. I should have photos of the car on the ice as well as Stu and Lynn competed with it for several years back in the early 90's. These may be harder to locate.

Hey Eric-

I took a better look at your photos. This was the first GTI Stu and Lynn had. Stu and Lynn iceraced this car after they gave up on the TR-7 that got T-boned by both Peter Cunningham and Leighton Reeese at the Eau Claire icerace in 1990. Chris Huntington rallied it back in 1989 at an Ojibwe Club rally and kicked ass as a wee lad in his late teens. (He may have info on it as well. I have an action shot of Chris in your car!) I think Stu may have run your car in SSB at Brainerd as well.

I seem to recall Stu got a second GTI later on and I have a photo of that car too (the photo from Ojibwe 1995 as mentioned before).

Hey thanks for the info Jerry ! Any pics you can dig up would be awesome! I'll def. buy them at your updated prices too :)

And I saw you needed work done on your mk2. I've done alternators before, but not a waterpump. Got a Bentley? Can't be too hard...I'll give it a whirl if you want. I could even practice on my mk1 first, for fun

I built that car in the mid 80's as a rally car. I have many pictures (on paper) of the building and racing of that car. It was very nice of Jerry to remember our outings with the car. I sold it to Stu who ice raced it for quite a while and rolled it several? times. (That will happen in ice racing!) It's good to see that the car still exists. Feel free to call me at the shop with any questions you may have.
BTW that hood scoop came off of my original rabbit ice race car that we ran at the winter carnival race several years.

wow, this car has quite the history! The plan is just to get a new windshield, and rally-x and ice-race it some more!
