I didn't take as many pictures as I wanted to of the course but it was SOOOO
dusty that I wanted to save the camera for the actual event so here we go.

this is of a turn/sweeper combo. In the foreground you see a fairly tight right hand turn that follows a short straight. In the background is this kind of straight/sweeper to the left combination. It will probably be the fastest part of the course as it leads into the longest straight and a moderate left (the right in the foreground follows the straight out ofthe aforementioned left). This will be a fun and challenging combo for you drivers, go too fast or too sidways and risk getting totally blinded by your own dust, go to slow and give up precious time!

http://www.coloradorally.org/storage/judgementcalljump. jpg
I call this one the judgement call jump. Its the first jump, it follows the
fastest part of the course. You can see in the foreground this unpleasant dip/
bump combo. This is a good thing. The first jump is more like a motorcross
jump, its really steep up and down, if you don't respect this fact you will
launch into oblivion or break your car. It will be a real test of your decision
making skills. Its perfectly drivable if you respect it, I drove it a handful
of times in the nissan, Jason and Brant drove it a bunch in their trucks, Ben S
drove it a bunch too, its totally drivable but you have to respect it.

http://www.coloradorally.org/storage/realniceleft. jpg

This is a really nice left turn that follows a right after the first jump. This picture was taken before the bobcat was done, they widened the turn and smoothed it out a lot. Its going to be a fun kind of tight left that has very little camber and an increase in elevation.

http://www.coloradorally.org/storage/jump3side. jpg

These are of the third jump. The second and third jumps are very similiar but the second one has less run in space so it will be hard to achieve enough speed to get much air. After I took these pictures Jason and Brant smoothed out the jump and both of them more rouneded so they will be much less likely to boot he back end of the car up. These should be a real blast and pretty smooth/easy on the cars as far as jumps are concerned.

This one is pretty self explanatory:
http://www.coloradorally.org/storage/surface. jpg

There is a whole figure 8 style section that I didn't take pictures of. On sunday Jason, Brant, Martin Mennig, Sunny Caughman, Sunny's friend whose name I still didn't learn, Shawn Whitney and myself as well as Ben S and Todd all worked on making the course smoother and easier on cars in an effort to make it just fun for everybody. The course has a little bit of everything and should be really cool.

Please do your rain dances for early this week. The surface needs some moisture to pack it in. If you're bringing workers or spectators make sure they have plenty of water and if they have any sort of respriatory situation something to cover their mouth/mask, I know I will.

Its been pointed out that the "judgement" call jump picture is a little mis leading. In the middle of the photo you can see some tires, that is the top of the jump and the course as it passes behind the jump. It is not that huge motorcross jump in the background.

I want to try the big jump in the background!
