The game is much to complex and advanced for a system such as PS2. It would take like 20 minutes for the inferior Sony system to load some of the 10+ mile long stages. If you don't believe me compare the stage load times for CMR3 fron PS2 to Xbox. Xbox is almost twice as fast and the graphics are better. I don't like video games, only rally games and for that the Xbos is superior. This game is fun to play with people but the gameplay isn't quite as fun as CMR4. Lots of fun cars to drive such as, Ford RS200, Rod Millen's Pike's Peak Celica, Per Ecklund's Saab 9-3 Viggen, Suzuki Escudo, Pike's Peak Tacoma, the usual assortment of rally cars, and some really cool rallycross and ice racing cars. The hill climb cars really are the highlight in my opinion though. The length of time you are stuck doing rallies with the Air Force Focus being the best avab rally car is extremely annoying however.

PS> Just kidding about inferior Kevin. I only have an Xbox because Mark gave me Colin McRae 3 for Xbox so I went and bought an Xbox. I had been planning to buy a PS2 but I have found that the Xbox is much quicker and the graphics on the games I've been able to compare are better. So if you're anti-Microsoft does that make you a Linux or Mac nerd? :)

Compared to Colin McRae Rally, RC2 sucks. Way too easy...way too backwards. CMR 3, 4, and 5 are all more realistic.

I agree with its inferiority to the McRae games in terms of reality. It's still pretty fun to play but does get boring pretty quick. Unlike the Colin games which I play a few times a week until the next version comes out. The newest one is just amazing.

To be honest,...
I don't think we will ever see a reality game as such.
Some are better than others and I agree that RC 2 could have been a little better.
Nevertheless, it's fun and as said, a big variety of cars.
