Is this rule set in stone, or is there a way in the future when your car reaches that point, that you can makes mods to it. Because I think I may have found a nice rally car but it is a 1986, which wouldn't give me much in the way of time to use it. Thanks in advance.-Adam

It seems to be pretty well set in stone, at least for ProRally. Of course, it doesn't apply at all to ClubRally.

As JB Niday has pointed out, it doesn't take much (bumpers and doors) to turn a 86 GTI into a 92 GTI.

As most manufacturers did not use the same body style from 85 to 92 like VW, your ability to do this is going to vary.

Perhaps if the auto manufacturers weren't all so fired up about rolling out radically new cars every couple of years we wouldn't be faced with this sort of situation at all!

...or get a Volvo 240! 1976 car can be made into a 1993 by changing: Hood, grill, head lights, front fenders, bumpers, dash and trunk lid. All bolt-on pieces. Cheap, too!
