You asked for it, here it is! Tarheel Sports Car Club announces a bonus event, Saturday, July 9th at BMW Farm in Clayton, NC.

As a test, for this event only (at least this season), we've decided that rally (and other aggressive tread) tires WILL BE ALLOWED. You'll see the new NU2, NO2, and NO4 classes on prereg form. Non-street-tire classes will be run last on both courses out of fairness to the street tire drivers.

Just a reminder that Tarheel Sports Car Club has a rallycross event coming up on Saturday, July 9th, in Clayton, NC.

Unlike at previous events, we will be allowing the use of rally tires, snow tires, and other knobby tires this time. You will see the new classes for these tires (NU2, NO2, NO4) on the online registration form.

The day was dusty and hot! Still, 38 folks came out to play. Only 2 cars (5 drivers) showed up to play with rally tires so it was hard to judge their effect, but the course didn't appear to fare any worse than usual. Consequently we are seriously considering officially supporting rally tire classes for 2006.
