Thanks to Eric Adams for organizing the RallyCross this past weekend just north of Cincinnati.

For a revival of RallyCross in the Southern Ohio Region it was a great success.

The day started damp and cold, but the early morning rain proved to be a blessing, softening up the field just enough to allow a couple passes of the cars to smooth the rough spots.

By the end of the first set of runs the course was getting faster and the dust was flying. (Each competitor ended the day with 6 runs, the course held up well enough --and kept getting faster-- that fastest run of the day was used for scoring.)

Everyone had a ton of fun, the $3.00 lunch hosted by the land owners (Rashid's?) was a great, no cars were broken, and the National ProRally Series Steward, Dan Coughnour, went away with FTD in his hakka shod street WRX!

The next event is November 17th, more info will be posted here and on the cinci region website.

Thanks again Eric -- a very successful event.

And thanks to Mike for driving down from Columbus to serve as Safety Steward. I'm sure he'd rather have been driving!

No,Thank you Mike for holding my hand.:7
I think i'm going to cry I'm so happy it worked ;) I just wish I didn't
have to hold up one drivers run to have spectators sign the waiver sheet
when I was waving the go flag,Mike was out on the course with a clipboard
and Dan C. was driving,go figure.:P
I'd like to thank Dan C. for teching and the Rasches for the land and food and Denise Mustain for being registrar(from Cincy Region)

I hope we see more drivers out on the 17th of Nov.

What should be the limit on how many drivers per car.Any suggestions?

Thank You
Eric Adams

This is pretty much up to you...more drivers per car makes the schedule back up. Some of the regions have a "club car" (often lovingly referred to as the "POS") that anybody can run...they line up the drivers for this car and run it in a group by itself. A variation of this could be used top allow lots of drivers for a few cars.

And I found out that Dan helped Mike as Safety Steward so both of them could run...thanks, Dan.

When somebody calls me about doing their very first rallycross, I make them come up with a suggestion for a safety steward. If I don't know the person, I talk to him/her and we reach agreement on what has to be done. For a first event, I normally insist that the safety steward not compete, but I relax that rule for later events by the same organizer. In your case, you had a PAIR of the best safety stewards you could find, so run/work was not a problem.

Keep them around...or have them train a couple more people...and you'll be fine.

YMMV if you're in another Division.
